the beauty industry can help us imagine different futures for fashion. cosmetics remain close to nature in their final form:

as liquids, as sap, as nectar, as mist.

that closeness to matter makes me wonder whether beauty can offer another way of thinking about production and consumption in fashion.


becoming interested in hydrofeminism [1],and in how our bodies are connected through water,i’ve paid close attention to the fragrance industry: building my own perfume, working with glass.

i track emerging trends across the beauty industry and read them against the wider ecological landscape, using what bodies of water wear to tell stories that place cosmetics and wellness culture back into conversation with nature.
